False-dragonhead flowers in Jyochi-ji temple
In Japan, this plant is called "hanatora no o" because its flower (hana) looks like a tiger's tail (tora no o). The blooming of this light-violet flower signals the oncoming of autumnal colors in the zen gardens of Kamakura.
