Jyugatsu-sakura (Prunus × subhirtella cv. Autumnalis) flowers in Engaku-ji
The name "Jyugatsu-sakura" means the cherry tree which blossoms in October.
Although common Sakura trees only blossom in spring, Jyugatsu-sakura trees bear precious flowers twice a year from October to January and from March to April.
