My photographic notes about the four seasons in Kamakura or the gardens of Zen

A rippled pond in Tsurugaoka-hachimangu
The dark shadows of bare trees were falling onto the quiet surface of the pond.
Suddenly a fish broke the water.
In a split second, these shadows were slightly disturbed by the gentle ripples.
Spring is awakening.
Ume (Prunus mume) flowers in Tokei-ji
The flowers of Ume are gracefully beginning to bloom to let us know the secret approach of spring.
The wheel of life is spinning around without stopping.
Winter waves at Shichiriga-hama beach
Under the silver gray sky of winter, the glistening sea was heaving harshly like a magnificent creature having its own solid mind.
The garden of Kannons in Engaku-ji
The slanting sun of that afternoon was softly illuminating the stone images of the god of mercy.
In this cold and silent garden, I felt that I had a glimpse of the eternities.
